Assistant Security Officer
About this role
Proforce Limited in Ogun State is hiring an Assistant Security Officer to join its security and facility team at the Ode Remo plant. The role involves helping protect plant assets, equipment, intellectual property and personnel, enforcing access control, and supporting security risk management and orderly operations across production and testing areas. The candidate will assist with access control, surveillance, asset protection, CCTV monitoring, and emergency response, while working with HSE and operations teams to uphold safety protocols. The position targets individuals with security experience in automotive or high-security environments and a background in criminology or related fields. Proforce Defence focuses on protective mobility products for government, corporate, diplomatic, and private clients in Nigeria and Africa.
What you would do
- Oversee entry and exit points for personnel, visitors, contractors and vehicles; verify credentials and manage gate passes.
- Conduct security screening in line with facility protocols.
- Perform regular foot and mobile patrols around the plant perimeter, production bays, warehouses, and sensitive zones.
- Inspect incoming raw materials, heavy machinery shipments, and outgoing vehicles/parts against logs to prevent loss.
- Assist in monitoring CCTV feeds, alarm systems and access control hardware.
- Serve as an early responder to security breaches, fire alarms, medical emergencies, or safety incidents and report incidents to management.
- Collaborate with HSE officers to enforce safety protocols and vehicle movement controls within the compound.
- Support risk management activities and maintain order across production and testing facilities.
- Maintain records and assist with incident documentation and reporting.
- Contribute to security improvements in collaboration with security and operations teams.
What they are asking for
- OND, HND or BSc in Criminology, Security Studies, Safety, Public Administration, Law Enforcement or related field.
- Military or paramilitary background is an advantage.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of hands-on security experience in automotive, heavy engineering yard or high-security defense installation.
- High physical fitness, strong observational skills, integrity, conflict resolution ability, report writing and good communication skills.
