Assistant Network Engineer
About this role
The role is for an Assistant Network Engineer based in Lagos and is part of the Churchgate Group. The position supports the management and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure, including VoIP services, access control systems, and multi-dish-to-home solutions for tenants. What you would do
- Implement and maintain network security protocols (VPNs, ACLs) per tower policies.
- Coordinate with approved vendors for hardware repairs and ISP escalations.
- Diagnose and resolve tenant-reported network issues from SMARTCHECK tickets.
- Maintain and troubleshoot access control systems across towers for security compliance.
- Configure and manage routers, switches and firewalls for SAT, CT and Recreation Area.
- Support and optimise Multi-Dish-to-Home solutions for tenants.
- Monitor network performance using designated tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, OTDR).
- Document network topologies, VoIP configurations and access control logs.
- Collaborate with Facility Management on network upgrades for new tenants.
- Deploy, configure and troubleshoot VoIP for residential and commercial clients.
What they are asking for
- CCNA, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of hands-on network administration, troubleshooting and support experience.
- Experience configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls and wireless networks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications or related field.
- Strong troubleshooting for latency, packet loss and connectivity issues.
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and learn new technologies.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
