Assistant Mooring Master
About this role
An Assistant Mooring Master based in Rivers, supporting export operations. You will assist the Mooring Master to ensure compliance with international marine rules and OCIMF recommendations, and help with hose connections and mooring activities according to approved procedures.
What you would do
- Assist tanker crew with tugboat connections and cast-off under Mooring Master direction
- Monitor tanker position, heading and speed relative to the FPSO and report to the Mooring Master
- Assist with hawser connection and disconnection during mooring operations
- Assist with hose connection and disconnection using offload toolbox equipment
- Monitor hawser tension and environmental conditions (wind, waves, current, visibility) and inform the Mooring Master of any concerns
- Maintain a continuous bridge watch and communicate with Mooring Master, tanker crew, tugboats and FPSO personnel throughout the operation
What they are asking for
- Chief Mate Certificate, STCW95 Reg. II/2 and flag state endorsement
- Meets the competence standard in STCW A-II/2 for master/chief mate on ships of 3000 gross tonnage or more
- Officer in charge of navigational watch certification on ships of 500 gross tonnage, with at least 12 months approved seagoing service in that capacity
- Excellent command of English, written and spoken
- Familiarity with Colregs and knowledge of SBM and tandem operations
- Good knowledge of bridge management and ECDIS
