Assistant Housekeeping Manager
About this role
The role is for an Assistant Housekeeping Manager who will support the Housekeeping Manager in running daily operations, leading the housekeeping team and ensuring cleaning, hygiene and guest service standards are met. It targets candidates with supervisory experience in housekeeping within hospitality and who can manage operations, training, and coordination with other departments.
What you would do
- Review daily occupancy, arrivals and VIP movements and set operational priorities
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations and staff development
- Handle escalated guest complaints and service recovery professionally
- Coordinate room assignments, staffing levels and communication with Front Office
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, purchasing and resource utilisation
- Supervise housekeeping supervisors and attendants and coordinate with other departments
What they are asking for
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or related field
- 3–5 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in hotel or upscale hospitality
- Previous supervisory or management experience in housekeeping
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and hotel/property management systems is advantageous
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays
- Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
