Assistant General Manager, Process Engineering
About this role
A leadership role in Dangote Group’s Operations & Maintenance (Production) focusing on optimising cement manufacturing processes from raw material preparation to cement grinding. The position is for someone who can improve process stability, throughput, product quality, energy efficiency and cost while ensuring adherence to operating procedures, safety, environmental standards and manufacturing objectives. The role involves coordinating process operations, conducting audits and studies, and driving improvement initiatives across crushing, milling, kiln and related operations. It targets a highly experienced engineer with deep knowledge of cement production and strong leadership capabilities. What you would do
- Coordinate and monitor process operations across crushing, raw milling, coal milling, kiln and cooler operations, clinker handling and cement grinding.
- Review operating parameters and process trends to identify bottlenecks, instability, production losses and improvement opportunities.
- Lead process optimisation initiatives to improve kiln, mill and production-line performance.
- Establish optimum operating parameters for major plant equipment and ensure adherence by production teams.
- Conduct process audits, heat and material balance studies, efficiency assessments and performance benchmarking.
- Recommend adjustments to operating practices, process controls and equipment configuration to improve plant performance.
- Support stabilisation and performance testing of new or upgraded plant equipment.
- Analyse production data and initiate corrective actions where performance deviates from standards.
- Support development and implementation of daily, monthly and annual production plans.
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance to maximise equipment availability and output.
