Assistant Farm Manager
About this role
The Assistant Farm Manager supports the Farm Manager in coordinating daily poultry farm operations across breeder, broiler, or layer operations for AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited in Oyo. The role suits a candidate with leadership skills, solid poultry production knowledge and a focus on operational excellence.
What you would do
- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily poultry farm operations
- Ensure compliance with biosecurity, health, safety and animal welfare standards
- Monitor flock performance including mortality, feed intake, weight gain, egg production, fertility and hatchability as applicable
- Supervise farm supervisors, attendants and other operational staff
- Manage feeding, watering, vaccination, medication and environmental conditions for birds
- Maintain records and manage inventory of feed, medications and consumables
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine or related field
- 5 to 7 years of experience in commercial poultry production
- Practical experience in breeder, broiler or layer farm management
- Experience supervising farm personnel and coordinating daily production activities
- Strong knowledge of poultry husbandry, biosecurity and flock management; ability to analyse production data
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and strong leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills
