Assistant Chief Laboratory Scientist
About this role
This is a senior laboratory leadership role in Lagos that oversees laboratory operations, supervises testing and staff, and ensures quality and biosafety. It targets experienced medical laboratory professionals with at least eight years post-registration experience, including principal grade level.
What you would do
- Provide senior supervision of laboratory operations and support service leadership
- Oversee laboratory testing and section work to meet standards and throughput
- Assist with rostering, workload allocation and skill-mix
- Support biosafety compliance, audits and quality assurance
- Supervise and appraise junior laboratory staff

- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognised institution
- Minimum of 8 years post-registration experience in the relevant profession, including principal grade or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of laboratory practice across disciplines and quality management
- Ability to supervise rostering, section supervision and skill-mix
- Experience in biosafety, quality assurance and external quality assurance
- Staff supervision and appraisal skills
