Assistant Accountant

About this role

The role is for an Assistant Branch Accountant at SIMS Nigeria Limited in Anambra, focusing on branch accounting, financial controls, reconciliations and cash operations for the company’s branch finance functions.

What you would do

• Post and reconcile daily transactions (bank, AR/AP, accruals).
• Support month-end close, tax docs, three-way matching, variance analysis and issue escalation.
• Receive, record, reconcile and safeguard customer and dealer payments via cash, POS and bank transfers.
• Balance daily collections and prepare deposit reports with audit trails.
• Maintain the branch fixed asset register and support counts and CapEx/CWIP accounting.
• Verify invoices against POs/receipts, process payments and reconcile vendor accounts.

• BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
• ICAN Intermediate preferred
• Minimum 3 years in accounting/finance with GL, reconciliations, AP, cash management, Excel and ERP/Odoo
• Experience with Odoo accounting and cash management
• Knowledge of bank, AR/AP, and fixed asset processes
• Female candidates are preferred
