Assembly Technician

About this role

Jubaili Bros Nigeria is looking for an Assembly Technician to join its Genset Assembly & Test Bay in Lagos. The role involves assembling and preparing diesel and gas generator sets for testing, following technical specifications, drawings and safety procedures. You will fit engines, alternators, radiators, control panels and other components, perform mechanical fitting and basic electrical connections, and support testing and commissioning activities. The job requires ensuring quality and safety, maintaining the workshop, and collaborating with production and technical teams to meet targets.

What you would do

• Assemble diesel and gas generator sets according to specifications and procedures
• Install and fit engines, alternators, radiators, control panels, batteries and other components
• Perform mechanical fitting, alignment, fastening and basic electrical connections as required
• Support generator testing and commissioning activities in the test bay
• Conduct pre-test inspections to verify correct installation and assembly quality
• Identify and report defective components, assembly errors and discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety standards
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, organised workshop
• Collaborate with production, quality control and technical teams to achieve targets
• Report safety or quality issues to supervisors as needed

What they are asking for

• OND, Trade Test Certificate or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or related field
• Relevant experience in generator assembly, mechanical fitting, equipment installation or similar workshop environment (advantage)
• Basic knowledge of generator set components, diesel/gas engines and mechanical assembly procedures
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and basic measuring instruments
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety and quality
• Ability to work well in a team and meet production schedules
