Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapist – Trainee
About this role
Proodos Care is seeking a full-time Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapist - Trainee. The role involves implementing ABA and Positive Behaviour Support programmes and supporting children with developmental delays and/or autism across home, school and community settings.
What you would do
- Assist in implementing person-centred ABA and Positive Behaviour Support programmes.
- Support children by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems and enhancing social skills within a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment.
- Monitor and record daily data for each child’s targets.
- Support children during times of disruptive behaviour.
- Ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible.
- Attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self-directed e-learning modules.
What they are asking for
- Degree in Psychology, Child Development Studies, Special Education or related field (preferred)
- ABAT or RBT certification (preferred)
- At least 1 year of applied experience working with individuals with developmental delay and/or autism
- 1+ year of applied experience working with individuals with speech sound disorders (advantage)
- Experience in managing challenging behaviours and using ABA methodologies for skill acquisition
- Residency in Lagos or willing to relocate at own cost; NYSC completed or within 2 months; willing to work on either Island or Mainland
