About this role

Role: Analytics & Target Setting Officer at First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Lagos. The role supports the Unit Head, Risk Analysis & Profiling in delivering operational risk analysis and profiling, using data analytics to turn risk data into actionable insights. It is suited to candidates with banking risk management experience and strong data analysis skills.

What you would do

• Support the Unit Head in delivering operational risk analysis and profiling deliverables.
• Analyse Bank KRI data to determine root causes and loss drivers, including trend analyses and deep-dive reviews of risk themes such as fraud.
• Collate external risk analysis data, considering lessons learnt and triggers for targeted reviews.
• Ensure integrity of data inputs and outputs and alignment to business unit risk profiles.
• Develop risk reports assessing the bank's operational risk exposures.
• Support the development of the Risk & Control Library for products, processes, systems and activities with process owners and stakeholders.

What they are asking for

• First degree in Applied Sciences; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum four years of banking experience in Risk Management Analysis.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools including MS Excel and Power BI; Tableau knowledge desirable.
• Understanding of data gathering and analysis using modern tools (Power BI, Tableau) and familiarity with banking structures, policies and core banking processes.
• In-depth knowledge of operational risk loss events in financial institutions.
• Ability to gather and analyse data and present findings to stakeholders and senior management.
