Analytical Chemist (Entry Level)

About this role

The role is for an entry level Analytical Chemist at The Candel FZE, a Lagos-based manufacturing company that develops and distributes agrochemicals, fertilisers, seeds and related products. The position is full-time and located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. The company aims to support quality control and laboratory operations through chemical testing, data management and equipment calibration in a GMP/GLP context.

What you would do

• Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports for the QA manager.
• Follow and enforce safety procedures in the laboratory.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, glassware and work benches.
• Prepare and label reagents per SOPs.
• Audit laboratory stock chemicals and glassware and report to the QA Manager.
• Track performance data in quality, process and equipment operations and share findings with the QA Manager.
• Carry out physico-chemical analyses on in-process and finished products and document results in QA records.
• Verify, calibrate and document laboratory equipment for optimal performance.
• Sample incoming raw materials and test to ensure they meet specifications before receiving into warehouse.
• Ensure PPE usage is compliant and maintained.

• Analytical skills and mindset in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry.
• Graduate from a Nigerian university.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure to release results on time.
• Good knowledge of Quality Assurance (ISO) and regulatory standards/policies (NAFDAC, SON).
• Flexibility in work and shift patterns.
• Good PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft packages for report writing.
