About this role
MTN Nigeria is hiring an Analyst (Tax) in Lagos to support the tax function across MTN and its subsidiaries. The role involves preparing tax computations, managing tax documentation, and ensuring compliance with federal and state tax authorities. It requires coordinating with finance and reporting teams and using tax technology tools to analyse data. The position reports to the Manager of Transfer Pricing and International Tax and sits in the Finance division. What you would do
- Prepare monthly and annual tax computations for provision, payment, and group submissions.
- Prepare and reconcile tax schedules for payments to FIRS and state Boards of Internal Revenue.
- Prepare annual transfer pricing documentation and e-file tax returns on FIRS portals.
- E-file and file VAT, WHT, Stamp Duties, and other tax returns on relevant portals.
- Prepare and validate tax computations on Tax Reporting Cloud System (TRCS) and HFM reports.
- Support audits and determine appropriate tax positions; respond to audits and requests.
- Use ERP (Oracle) and tax technology tools to analyse data and assess tax impact.
- Store and organise tax-related documentation; ensure compliance with MTNN policies.
- Prepare year-end tax schedules for statutory audits and assist in management reporting.
- Collaborate with reporting teams (TB, IFRS 16, impairment schedules) and ensure accurate tax reporting.
What they are asking for
- First degree in Accounting, Economics or a related finance discipline.
- Part-qualified in ICAN, CITN or ACCA.
- Fluent in English.
- 3 to 7 years’ experience in tax or related fields; experience in a medium organisation.
- Experience in tax consulting, tax administration, audit or related accounting functions.
- Proficiency with Oracle ERP and familiarity with Nigerian tax policy environment.
