Analyst - Sustainability, ESG & Business Intelligence

IPMC in Lagos seeks an Analyst focusing on Sustainability, ESG and Business Intelligence. The role supports research, assessment and advisory work by gathering information, analysing data, conducting fieldwork and delivering professional reports. It targets individuals with a background in finance, economics, statistics, accounting, environmental science, engineering or related fields, with experience in research or ESG analysis. The employer provides services in oil and gas, infrastructure and related sectors, with a focus on technical, economic and management needs. The position reports to the Relevant Technical Manager or programme Lead.

What you would do

• Collect, review and organise corporate, environmental, operational and sustainability information.
• Support ESG assessments, compliance reviews, research and performance benchmarking.
• Conduct desk research, structured interviews and field data collection.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative information using approved methodologies.
• Prepare assessment schedules, data summaries, analytical reports and presentations.
• Maintain reliable supporting evidence and properly documented data sources.
• Identify reporting gaps, inconsistencies and issues requiring technical follow-up.
• Support the development and maintenance of IPMC's intelligence databases.

What they are asking for

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2-4 years in research, ESG analysis, data analysis, audit, sustainability assessment or consulting.
• Strong Excel, research, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Familiarity with ESG reporting, financial analysis or business intelligence tools is desirable.
