About this role
The role involves maintaining and managing all simulator systems in the Simulation Complex to ensure uptime, reliability and performance, including hardware, software, networks, audiovisuals, databases and instructor tools. It serves as the primary technical resource for instructors, trainees and management to ensure uninterrupted training delivery in Lagos.
What you would do
- Ensure simulator systems are operational and available per the training schedule.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on hardware, software, servers, workstations, networks and audiovisual equipment.
- Monitor system logs and address issues proactively to prevent disruption.
- Provide real-time technical support during training programs, examinations and demonstrations.
- Assist instructors in configuring and launching simulation exercises; support scenario loading, database management and exercise recovery.
- Resolve technical incidents during live training sessions with minimal disruption.
What they are asking for
- Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Marine Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of technical support or maintenance experience in one or more of: simulators, industrial control systems, marine systems, aviation simulators, defence training systems, or complex integrated IT environments.
- Desirable: maritime simulation experience.
- Desirable: IT networking certification (CCNA or equivalent).
- Desirable: familiarity with Microsoft and Linux platforms; cybersecurity certification if applicable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Windows Server and workstation administration, TCP/IP networking, database administration, hardware diagnostics, software installation and configuration, backup and recovery, and system monitoring tools.
