Turnkey Africa Limited seeks an entry-level AI Engineer in Lagos. The role focuses on building, testing and maintaining AI capabilities used across the Evolve teams, including data preparation, integrating approved model and LLM APIs with Evolve services, and evaluating feature reliability. What you would do
- Build Python components, scripts and integrations exposed to Evolve services through APIs
- Add input validation, error handling and tests with guidance
- Prepare and validate datasets for development and evaluation
- Check data formats, missing values and labeling quality; document transformations
- Integrate model or LLM APIs into Evolve workflows
- Support prompt configuration, structured outputs and response validation
- Create and run repeatable evaluation cases including edge and failure scenarios
- Compare outputs against criteria and document errors, limitations and regressions
- Investigate failures and handle data safely and escalate quality or data concerns
- Support deployment and monitoring under guidance and contribute to code quality and documentation

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field, or equivalent practical training
- Foundational Python skills demonstrated via coursework, internship or projects
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, evaluation metrics and model output limitations
- Familiarity with REST APIs, HTTP and JSON, Git, automated tests and debugging in an existing codebase
- Ability to work with structured data and explain technical tasks with documentation
