Advisor, Right-Fit Evidence Unit
About this role
The role is for an Advisor in IPA’s Right-Fit Evidence Unit in Nigeria. The position involves delivering evidence- and data-driven monitoring, evaluation, and learning advisory services to implementers and funders to improve programs and how data informs decisions. The Advisor reports to an RFE Manager and works with other RFE staff and IPA colleagues across country offices. The unit supports partners to embed learning and use evidence in development and humanitarian work.
What you would do
- Prepare and present advisory and analytical deliverables communicating findings and recommendations
- Design and adapt workshop content, plan and run workshops and training sessions, and coordinate logistics
- Conduct quality checks on deliverables
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and training on MEL design, data collection, survey development, data management, analysis, and evidence-based decision making
- Manage portions of project workplans and administration (documentation, note-taking, file storage, tracking)
- Collaborate with partners to develop or refine Theories of Change and MEL frameworks
- Engage with stakeholders and share insights to strengthen organizational knowledge
- Accompany and provide feedback on data collection design and implementation as needed
- Contribute to knowledge exchange within RFE and IPA with foundations, NGOs, and governments
- Support business development and strategy goals within RFE and higher-level organizational development
What they are asking for
- Master’s degree in economics, statistics, public policy, international development, social science or related field (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, public policy, international development, social science or related field
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%)
- Lived or work experience in Africa and/or low- and middle-income countries (preferred)
- Familiarity with randomized controlled trials (preferred)
- Experience in international development or humanitarian work (preferred)
- Prior consultancy or professional services experience (preferred)
- 2–5 years of relevant work experience in MEL, data analysis/management, consulting, project management, or research and development
- English fluency; professional proficiency in Spanish, French, or Portuguese (preferred)
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and conceptual thinking skills
