Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant

About this role

This is a full-time Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant role with Schlumberger Limited in Port Harcourt, Rivers. The role covers managing AR and collections, ensuring timely cash application, and reporting on receivables and aging to maximise liquidity. It is suited for candidates with 2-3 years' AR or credit control experience.

What you would do

• Follow up on assigned AR accounts to ensure timely collections in line with objectives.
• Document and review the order-to-cash process and identify efficiency improvements.
• Collect outstanding invoices and create records for invoice disputes and resolution.
• Record AR activity in the collection system, including submission, resubmission and transaction dates, and assign action items for disputes.
• Maintain regular contact with customer AP departments via collection calls, past due notices and account statements.
• Ensure compliance with eFinance policies and maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 2-3 years' experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of AR processes, collections management, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered Accountant (ICAN or ACCA) would be an added advantage.
