Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant

An Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant role with Schlumberger (SLB) in Rivers, Nigeria. The position involves managing the trade AR portfolio, ensuring timely cash application, and providing accurate reporting on receivables and aging balances. What you would do

• Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable through regular follow-up on assigned accounts.
• Document and review the order-to-cash process and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Collect outstanding invoices, gather information on invoice disputes, and create dispute records for resolution.
• Maintain AR status by entering notes in the collection system about submissions, resubmissions and transaction approvals.
• Maintain contact with customer accounts payable departments through collection calls, past due notices and statements.
• Collaborate with internal teams including the Billing Center of Excellence, Sales, Operations, Tax and Treasury to support collections, cash application and dispute resolution.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit control or a similar finance role.
• Good understanding of AR processes, collections management, account reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered Accountant ICAN, ACCA will be an added advantage.
