Accountant / Auditor

About this role

An Accountant/Auditor role to support a hotel's financial operations in Abuja. The position involves maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, monitoring revenue, preparing financial reports, and assisting audit activities while ensuring compliance with established controls.

What you would do

• Maintain up-to-date accounting records and financial documentation
• Record daily financial transactions including income, expenses, purchases, payments and receipts
• Reconcile bank statements, cash balances and other financial accounts
• Monitor hotel revenue from rooms, restaurant, bar, events and other sources
• Assist in preparing daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial reports
• Support internal and external audit activities and provide required records when needed

What they are asking for

• Degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field (BSc or HND) with 4-7 years of experience
• Experience in accounting and auditing; hospitality/hotel sector experience is an advantage
• Professional qualification or membership of ICAN, ANAN, ACCA or related body is an added advantage
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting; basic understanding of auditing, internal controls, taxation and financial procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; strong numerical, analytical skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; reliable, organised and able to work independently and in a team; able to meet deadlines and work under pressure; willing to work shifts and during busy periods
