Greensprings School in Lagos is recruiting for an Accountant (Accounts Payable). The role focuses on managing the school’s accounts payable processes, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time, and supporting the Finance team with related tasks. The position is full-time and based in Lagos. What you would do

• Prepare payment schedules and process approved payments within set timelines
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and liabilities
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on pending approvals and documentation
• Process and verify supplier invoices, payment requests and supporting documents
• Maintain confidential and professional handling of financial information
• Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice and payment queries
• Identify discrepancies, duplicate invoices or irregular transactions and escalate
• Maintain documentation and filing of invoices, vouchers, receipts and other records
• Support the Finance team with financial reporting and other accounting duties
• Perform regular reconciliation of accounts payable ledgers and supplier statements

• Minimum 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, reconciliations and financial controls
• Good understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements
• Experience with accounting/ERP software
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• Professional accounting qualification or progress towards one (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) an advantage
• Experience in an educational institution or structured corporate environment is an advantage
