Coleman Technical Industries Limited is looking for an Accountant to join its Finance & Accounts Department in Ogun. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting internal controls. What you would do
- Prepare, review, and maintain financial statements and accounting records.
- Manage general ledger postings, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal financial policies.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, and expense management.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.).
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, identify variances, and suggest corrective actions.
- Participate in cost accounting and inventory management for accurate product costing.
- Contribute to improvements in accounting systems, controls, and reporting processes.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a numerate discipline (BSc or HND).
- Professional certification: ICAN or ACCA (mandatory).
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting, finance, or audit experience.
- Prior experience in a cable manufacturing or related manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Tally, ERP systems).
- Excellent numerical accuracy, report writing, and communication skills.
- Integrity, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound professional judgment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Residence within Arepo, Ogun State, or close to the Arepo facility; willingness to commute from Abuja (FCT) or Dan Kogi Junction is an advantage.
