About this role
Emmittex Agro Industry Limited is looking for an Accountant to manage the company’s accounting operations at its palm kernel processing plant in Awka, Anambra. The role focuses on maintaining financial records, monitoring costs, managing inventory and supplier/customer accounts, tracking cash flow, and producing regular financial reports for management. The successful candidate should understand how manufacturing activities affect financial performance and work with internal teams to ensure accurate, timely reporting and strong internal controls. This is a full-time position with immediate resumption preferred.
What you would do
- Maintain and reconcile books of accounts and supporting documentation.
- Record financial transactions in accordance with procedures.
- Prepare production cost reports and monitor costs against budgets.
- Track raw materials, production costs, labor, energy, and other production expenses.
- Manage inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and other stock.
- Reconcile stock records with physical counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Verify supplier invoices and manage supplier payment schedules.
- Record and monitor sales, receivables, and customer accounts; follow up on overdue payments.
- Perform cash flow tracking, bank reconciliations, and prepare cash position reports.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports; assist with budgeting and audits.

- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Experience in manufacturing accounting and cost accounting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, inventory, supplier and customer accounts, and financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently with strong internal controls and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office; ability to generate timely reports.
