Neveah Limited seeks a mid‑level Accountant to support the Finance/Accounts Unit. The role involves analysing data, evaluating investment opportunities and providing financial recommendations to stakeholders. The company exports solid minerals and agricultural products and operates from multiple offices with its head office in Abuja. The Accountant will help manage ledgers, budgets, cash and debt controls, and contribute to strategic financial decisions.
What you would do
- Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers and financial records accurately
- Institute policies to protect resources from waste, fraud and inefficiency
- Maintain controls over cash transactions
- Follow up on accounts receivable and payable in a timely manner
- Evaluate and implement audit recommendations and report results to management
- Prepare budgets and forecasts with data from departments and provide analyses
- Provide financial support and advisory services to management
- Control budgets, assets and credit according to procedures
- Engage with the business to contribute to key decisions with financial insight
- Drive process improvements and policy development within the finance function
What they are asking for
- BSc in Finance, Economics or related field
- Qualified chartered accountant with 3–5 years in a similar manufacturing/export role
- Proven experience as a Finance Analyst
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and packages
- Strong presentation, reporting and communication skills
- Knowledge of financial forecasting, corporate finance and data analysis
- Awareness of current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws and business environment
- ICAN/ACCA professional membership required
- Ability to use modern accounting software
