Accountant role in Lagos for Smart Energies. Responsible for managing financial records, reporting, tax and statutory obligations, supporting leadership with financial insights, budgeting, cash management and project costing in a fast-paced energy company.
What you would do
- Maintain books of account in line with IFRS and Nigerian laws
- Prepare monthly management accounts and variances
- Conduct reconciliations and close monthly/annual accounts
- Support budgeting, costing, and management information and monitor budgets
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and cash flow forecasting
- Assist with tax compliance, statutory filings and audits
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (ICAN/ANAN or equivalent); ACA/FCA status required
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience with IFRS reporting, tax compliance and month-end close
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel; knowledge of budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Experience in SME or growth-stage energy/engineering/trading sector is advantageous
