About this role
The Account Officer is a full-time role based in Lagos, Nigeria. It involves supporting the Finance function by maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting, payroll, reconciliations, audits, statutory compliance and bookkeeping.
What you would do
- Maintain accurate accounting records including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll records.
- Process and verify invoices, payment vouchers, expense claims, quotations and supporting documentation.
- Perform daily bookkeeping and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
- Prepare monthly bank, ledger, supplier, customer and other account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Support statutory compliance by assisting with tax computations, filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping or finance.
- Part-qualification or progress toward ICAN, ACCA, CIMA or CPA; full qualification is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and statutory/tax compliance requirements.
- Experience with accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, SAP or similar ERP) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Experience supporting payroll processing, reconciliations and audit preparation; strong numerical and analytical skills; ability to handle confidential information.
