Account Officer

About this role

The Borough Lagos is seeking an entry-level Accounts Officer to support the Finance team with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts and ensuring proper documentation of financial activities. The role is suitable for recent graduates or individuals with limited accounting experience who want to build a career in finance and accounting.

What you would do

• Record daily financial transactions accurately and promptly.
• Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, invoices and other financial documents.
• Assist with daily cash and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain proper filing and organisation of financial records.
• Process supplier invoices and assist with payment preparation.
• Monitor and update accounts receivable and payable records.

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• NYSC completed or currently serving where applicable.
• 0-1 year of accounting or finance experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office; familiarity with accounting software is an added advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with good written and verbal communication.
