Account Assistant

About this role

The Account Assistant will support the Nigerian NewsDirect accounting team with daily financial and administrative tasks. The role is suitable for graduates with a BSc in accounting, finance or a related field and up to two years of relevant experience, with fresh graduates possibly considered.

What you would do

• Record and process financial transactions
• Support invoicing, payments, expenses and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Assist with financial reports and schedules including payroll-related tasks
• Support the Accountant with audits
• Assist with other accounting duties

• BSc degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 0-2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates may be considered
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, Google Workspace and other accounting software
• Strong numerical, organisational and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team
