About this role
Access Bank is recruiting Branch Compliance Officers for Lagos, Benue and Sokoto. The role involves supporting and monitoring compliance activities across branches to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, and escalating risks for timely resolution. It is suited to candidates with demonstrable experience in compliance and related banking functions.
What you would do
- Monitor assigned branches for compliance with regulatory requirements, policies and internal controls
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and follow up on identified exceptions until closure
- Ensure compliance with KYC, CDD, AML/CFT and sanctions requirements; review account-opening documentation
- Identify, document and escalate compliance breaches, exceptions and emerging risks
- Provide compliance guidance to branch staff and track remediation of findings
- Escalate unusual or potentially suspicious activities and liaise with stakeholders to resolve issues
What they are asking for
- First degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, Finance or related discipline
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Banking Operations, Internal Control, Audit, Risk Management or related function
- Professional qualification – ACA, ACCA, CFA, ACIB
- Master’s Degree (desirable)
- Knowledge of applicable CBN regulations and Nigerian banking industry compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel; strong report-writing and stakeholder management skills
