AC Technician (Automotive HVAC)
About this role
Proforce Industries Limited is looking for an AC Technician to work on automotive HVAC systems in its Ode Remo, Ogun facility. The role involves installing, diagnosing, repairing, and testing climate control systems for their tactical, commercial, and armored vehicle lines. The position is full-time and located at No1 Akaka Road, Ode Remo, Ogun State. The company operates in the automotive and defence manufacturing sector, producing armored products for government, corporate, diplomatic, and private clients in Nigeria and Africa.
What you would do
- Perform routine HVAC maintenance and repairs identified during assembly or QC inspections.
- Conduct diagnostics, pressure testing, vacuum evacuation, and leak detection to identify refrigerant leaks or system issues.
- Wire and integrate climate control components into the vehicle electrical harness.
- Install, route, and charge automotive air conditioning systems on vehicle assembly lines.
- Safely handle refrigerants, recover, recycle, and recharge in line with safety and environmental standards.
- Conduct pre-delivery climate tests under extreme temperature conditions to assess performance and durability.
What they are asking for
- 2–5 years of hands-on automotive AC installation and repair experience in a vehicle assembly plant, heavy equipment facility, or specialized automotive workshop.
- NABTEB, Trade Test Class 1, OND, or HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technology, Automotive Engineering, or related technical field.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in manifold gauge sets, vacuum pumps, leak detectors.
- High attention to workplace safety.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical diagrams and follow manufacturer specifications.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations for safe chemical handling and refrigerant procedures.
